OMD Monday's

❇Welcome to a new edition of OMD Monday!!

*credit goes to Jan's Funny Farm for my GREAT new header and background* Thanks Jan!

Hello and I hope you all had a great weekend!
I have made a couple changes here as I get used to how exactly I want this blog to go. Originally this was supposed to be OMD Wednesday, however, I have been informed that Wednesdays are also something I participate in called wordless Wednesday. So from now on, be expecting OMD to be every Monday.
Now let's move on.
Dexter...
The story I have for you today is very sweet, yet also very sad...

Dexter is a Pit Bull who was rescued from a High kill shelter in California.
This poor boy had obviously been through so much in life, he has so many scars on his body, that is clearly enough evidence for me at least, to know what neglect and abuse he has been through, not to mention the hurt you see in his eyes.
Dexter has clearly kept a good heart through all of this, and still has love in his eyes for humans.

Dexter was diagnosed with mast cell tumors, he went through surgery to have them removed but because he is an older dog, his recovery has been slower then most.
Also because of his age, his family decided not to put him through kemo and radiation treatment.
His family believes that Dexter should be able to spend the rest of life being loved and comforted by them. Dexter has even had a bucket list made, check it out!

Our hearts go out this family and to you Dexter. You are a strong dog and we wish you the best of luck. And warm wishes.

➡one thing that made me happiest about this story is that Dexter is not alone, he has his family with him to love and care for him in his time of need.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this heart felt story.

✴as for Mika and Lexus, they are doing wonderfully and no worries, I will have a post all about my girls for you tomorrow.

  3. I had an old dog named Walther. He got testicular cancer. They couldn't do nothing for him, and the Vet told us to go home, and come back if he was hurting. Then they would put him to sleep. The Vet expected we would be back after a month. But the old boy lived 1 and a half year after that. And he was fine and happy. So it is possible that the dog can live a long time. I cross my fingers.

  4. Love the idea of bucket lists for our dogs. We did a mini one for our Becca when we knew she had osteosarcoma.

  11. So glad he has a caring family. Very nice header, but it appears piilated (fuzzy) on my screen. I'd recommend sizing it down a bit. ;)
