Happy New Years Eve!!

Well its that time again, New Years! Time for resolutions and hopes of a happy healthy year to come!

I have been reading so much about everybody's resolutions, and started thinking......you know, I have never really been one to make New Years resolutions.....but I suppose if I were to make a few......it would go a little something like this ....(((ahem)))
I would love to take my huskies more places with us. Before Lexus, Mika used to always come in the car with us. Wherever we went she came....to my moms for a visit, to Tim Horton's to get a coffee, anywhere. She loved it! And we loved having her with us!

When we got Lexus though, we thought we should leave Mika at home with her, so that she had some company. And after that I suppose we just fell out of the habit of bringing her along.

Lexus HATES car rides, so we can't bring them both. I suppose my next step is trying to make Lexi feel more comfortable while in a vehicle. If anybody has suggestions on that subject, I would love to hear from you!

Another resolution I would have is to get out walking more often with the girls. I do walk them.....lets face it, they are huskies and if I didn't walk them and take them to the dog park and so on, they would destroy my house out of sheer boredom! BOL! True story!

Another would be to get myself on a better sleep schedule. I am a horrible sleeper. Often up till 4am reading because I can't sleep. So I would love to figure out a way to get back on a sleeping schedule.

What are your New Years resolutions as we end the year 2013?
Leave them in the comments below this post :)

  2. Walking more is always on our to do list. It has just been too cold here (-30 C, -15F) so we are out of the routine. We have a dog that hates the car and gets really sick. Sorry don't have any help with that. Wishing you all the best for 2014. Happy New Year! Lee and Phod and their Lady

  7. Happy New Year to you!

About car riding...one thing you might try is to have one person sit in back with Lexus and just reassure or play while the other person drives, say around the block. Lots of praise, treats when you finish and are home a bit (so no tummy upset). Make it a huge deal...oh we are going on a car ride, oh won't it be great. Happy happy voice going to the car and from the car. Then lengthen the time with person in the back as long as doggy is OK. Maybe drive to a favorite park. Once you have done that, start over with dog alone in back and repeat. This has worked for us (of course we had puppies...lol).

  8. We don't do "resolutions" because they set us up for failure, we prefer "intentions" and mine is also to take Dakota more places (but he doesn't like the car either) He isn't bad in the car, he just will only sit on the FLOOR lol!! Also, he (and I ) need to take more walks and I need to soooooo change my sleep schedule! I stay up way too late! HAPPY NEW YEAR! xoxo
