This n That Thursday!

Hiya! And welcome to Thursdays blog hop
"This n that Thursday"
Hosted by: Ruckus the Eskie and 2 Brown Dawgs

This blog is is about a little of this....a little of that...and everything in between!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years Day, and we would like to wish you all the best in 2014!

So first i'll do a little of this.
'This' being OMD! It is sooooooo cold out there today!!!
I don't know about where you all live, but today in Canada Ontario, there is a severe cold weather warning. And with good reason!

My goodness, you know it's cold when your Huskies think its to darn cold!
It is quite literally hurting their paws! Trying to go to the bathroom while trying as hard as they can to hold at least one paw off the ground!
So out come the Husky booties i'd say!

Ok....now a little of that!
Did your pets have a good Christmas?
There are several different opinions on whether or not our pets actually understand why they are getting presents ...or even what the whole point of a present is.

So my view is, (or at least how I see that my girls take it) is they don't quite get what a holiday is or what purpose of serves, but they certainly know that when there are colorful wrapped up presents, and the smell of turkey in the oven, and family gathering at my house....they know somthings up!
They may not know what holiday and why. But they certainly know that something's up and they are a part of it! And they know they get some of that turkey, and they know that some of those colorful presents are for them. They get exited and they just.....they just know!

What are your views on pets and holidays?

Ok now for everything in between.
What are some of the gifts you got for your pets?
Before Christmas I read a ton of posts with every dog and cats Santa paws letters, did you all get what was on your lists?
My girls got some of their list, not all I must admit, however I try and help my huskies understand that Santa paws just can't fit every single thing on his sleigh that is asked of him. I think they get it. ;)

Thanks so much for reading, and enjoy the hop!

  1. Happy New Year to all of you!! We don't get really carried away with Christmas gifts for the pets, because I don't think they would really know the difference (and we spoil them year round anyway). But it's fun for us, and I think as you said, they know something special is up even if they don't know exactly why. The whole family is home and together and that makes us all happy!
Oh boy, it must be cold if the Huskies are cold! Our beagle Cricket wanted to play ball today, but she came in with one paw in the air so I knew it was too cold. Our golden retriever would just stay out there though, I always have to call her inside to warm up!

  6. Uh it looks cold. Here in Denmark where I live, we have +5 degrees Celsius, so we have a gray winter without snow.

  10. Thanks so much for joining TNT. :) It is cold and snowy here. Brown dawgs don't care they would hang out there all day lifting their paws from the cold...lol. Our pups had fun with their new toys. I am sure they would have preferred to go on a hunt. :)
