Husky vs banana

Today we are joining the tasty Tuesday blog hop! Hosted by Kols Notes and
Sugar the Golden Retriever .
Thank to the hosts for putting on a great hop!

We don't exactly have a recipe to share with you but our pal Sugar the Golden gave us an idea when we read one of their posts a while back. You see,  Sugar loves bananas! And apparently a lot of other dogs do to!

SO this got me to thinking . . . you know, I have never tried giving my pack a banana!

I do know that they love carrots! We always have baby carrots at my house,
(Great snack with some yummy 3 cheese ranch dip!)
And every time I pull the bag of carrots out, the pack does not let me put them back without giving them a couple!

As you can see from the above photos, carrots are a fan fav! Haha!

SO, I decided to buy some bananas and see if my pack enjoyed them as much as Sugar does.

Koda was the most curious! He didn't even want to wait until I peeled it! Haha!
Look at those chompers!!

Lexus was a little reluctant, but after a good sniff, she took it.

Mika was a tad unsure also, but who can resist a treat that mum is giving out to everyone?

The verdict?

Koda ate his all up and asked for more.

Lexus ate. . . . most of hers, and Koda finished it.

Mika had a couple bites . . . Koda finished it

So I gave the girls a couple more carrots instead and they were happy.

So Koda is my banana pup, and the girls are carrot heads! Ha!

So do your dogs like bananas?
Have they ever tried them?
Let me know in your comments below!

Have a savory tasty Tuesday everyone!

  2. Koda's eyes are so big in that one photo....he looks so excited!! Our Kobi used to love bananas, but the girls have never had much interest (unless I mix them with something and make a frozen treat), but Luke has taken over for Kobi. My hubby has a banana every morning and Luke is right there next to him waiting impatiently for some bites!
I haven't tried carrots with Luke yet, I will have to do that. Again, Kobi was the only one who ever liked them. The girls just aren't much for fruits and veggies!

Weird because it's also my girls who didn't like the banana but my boy who did. Us girls are just stubborn I think! haha!!
BUT they all love the carrots! And I encourage you to test them out on your pack! They love to chew them and carrots I have heard from my good furriend Earl, are good for their teeth as well!

As fur bananas, I share a preFURence with my mom fur only liking them when they are FURM ;-)
Once they get all mushy, she'll mash 'em and mix with yougurt or peanut butter - then she'll packhk that in an empty marrow bone and freeze to khreate a bonesikhle!

    1. haha! Thanks Ruckus!
They each got a few baby carrots a piece. I do training with them every day, even if it's just for a minute. And with all 3 of them always in the kitchen with me during training, they have learned that if they wait their turn, their treat comes a lot quicker!!

  14. Carrots - Ciara and Lightning ove them, cooked or raw, but bananas, none of us will eat them fresh - they have to be in homemade treats or else we just walk away. Now Phantom won't eat carrots or bananas at all, but he IS Mr. Picky Boy.
