Sepia Saturday Sibe Vibe!

Hi everyone and Happy Sibe Vibe Sepia Saturday!!

I hope you are all having a PAWsome weekend!
I have dedicated the last few posts I have done to be about fun in the snow, as I fear our husky heaven of a winter is coming to an end.
It is rainy and the warm weather is coming, according to Mr. Weather man.

So I hope you enjoy our sepia photo's , (eyes edited) of huskies having fun in the snow, as we are joining up with
Ruckus the Eskie today and his Sepia Saturday blog hop!
This is such a fun hop, I love mashing our Sibe Vibe with Sepia, and I encourage you to check out Ruckus's blog and maybe even link up to the hop for my fellow bloggers out there.

So before we go on, I would like to draw your attention to the little blue bird that happens to be flying around my page. (As if you haven't noticed right?) I have named him Pete. Feel free to say hello to him!
He is the official twitter birdie.
If you scroll over him you will get two options, a follow me option or a tweet it option.

Now enjoy a moment of Sepia fun in the snow!

Now, yesterday we were telling you that we got some PAWsome video footage of our fun in the snow. SO we are posting them today. They are short video's so please take a look. This first one is of our pack just having fun and play fighting!

video

And our second video brings us to our husky fun fact of the week.
I should think this fact is EXTREMELY obvious, but with this video I thought it was only fitting.

Kick sled
FUN FACT : Huskies love to pull pull pull!!! If they can pull something, or someone, you will never see a happier husky! My huskies are not yet trained to pull a proper kick sled .
But with a harness, a leash and a kid in a sled, they love it just as much!

Keep in mind in this video, there are two leashes attached to the huskies.
One tied around me and then connected to their collar ( which gets no tension  at all ) and one attached to their harness and then looped through my daughters sled.
Enjoy :)

Now I have one final video to share with you, however this one is not of my pack, but of a husky named Freedom. It is a beautiful video about a trooper of a dog who had to undergo eye surgery. Freedom ended up losing both of his eyes and the surgery did not take. But he did not give up!
After some struggles and a lot of persistence, he was back to his old self, exploring the mountains, guarding their camp, and chasing after toys. This video is a couple minutes long, but please do take a look, it is a truly inspiring clip!

On behalf of our pack at Love is being owned by a husky, we would like to say thank you Freedom! Thank you for inspiring us, thank you for being strong, thank you for NOT giving up!
You are a fighter and a trooper! And we are so proud of you!

Thanks for coming by everyone.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and don't forget to vote for Lexus today, just a couple days left!

  8. What a great post! I had to go back and watch your precious little girl tell you that she wanted to "Do it again." after sobbing through Freedom's story. "Do it again."used to be a constant sentence when my kids were small. She looks so cute all bundled up and the gang appears to be having a blast. I like your Pete tweet!

    1. Yep, we were having a blast for sure! Thanks for your kind words Melissa! I love when she is all bundled up. She looks so cute, but can hardly move hahahaha!!!!!
I sobbed through Freedoms story as well, but I had to share it. To me it is inspirational, that this dog did not give up, and got himself back to his regular lifestyle, when so many of us humans would give up at that point of losing your eyes. I love the story and i am glad you watched it, but so sorry to make everyone all teary eyed today!

  10. We've heard how much huskies love the snow. Every year we beg Khyra to take any we might get, but she never gets here in time. :)

The sled ride looks like fun.

  20. I love the sepia photos with the blue eyes (those eyes are one of my favorite husky features as I've probably said before)! What program did you use to edit those? I can't find the sepia with the color splash option with the ones I use.
What fun having your dogs pulling your daughter. Every child should have a husky to pull them on a sled!

    1. haha! i know right! She just loves being pulled around!! And the huskies loves pulling, so it definitely works out well for them!!
I use pic monkey for most of my photos. I don't do a col,or splash thing, but I make the photo "sepia style" then you can choose whatever part of your photo you want to make the original color and then choose brush size, and carefully paint it back to normal!
If you have any more questions about it, feel free to shoot me an email!

    2. Thanks, Jenna. Pic Monkey is one I have used, but I never saw that option. I'll take a look and if I can't figure it out, I will email you!
