OMD! Monday - Hero Cat SAVES little boy!

Oh My Dog!
Have we got story for you!

. . . .  hmmm wait a minute. I suppose today's title should be OMC (Oh My Cat) instead of OMD.

Let me explain.

Today we bring you an amazing, scary story that has quickly gone viral.

We normally focus on hero dogs and/or rescue stories, however, I could not let this one slide by without sharing it with my readers.

Meet Tara and Jeremy. . .

The boy in this photo is 4 years old. His name is Jeremy and he is still healing from a terrible incident that occurred last Tuesday.

The kitty in this photo is Tara.
She has been with the family for 6 years.

Last Tuesday, Jeremy was attacked by a neighbors dog while he was outside riding his bike in his own driveway. The attack happened so quickly, that his mother was literally in state of shock.
Catching all of this on film, was a security camera which thankfully was rolling the whole time.

As the neighbors dog was biting the little boy, Tara came bounding out of no where and pumbled the dog.
The dog ran! The cat chased him far enough away that she knew he was not coming back, then turned to go back to her little human and make sure he was ok.

The boy suffered some pretty brutal leg wounds, however, had it not been for Tara the cat, things could have been a lot worse.

I have two videos to share with you. The first is an original copy of the video, (very short) with no sound.
Please note : There are no "graphic" images in this video, however it does show a dog attacking a boy's leg.
In the second video, they do show the stitches the boy received.
Fair warning, and please do not feel obligated to watch.

This next one is a news clip. This video is a little bit longer, but we get to meet the family. Jeremy, Tara and their parents, and hear the whole story.

Tara is now deemed a hero. I absolutely LOVE how she came running in to save her beloved mini human.
It has amazed everyone across the world.

Jeremy, enjoy that kitty of yours and keep her safe and by your side for life!

I don't know the details of this story enough to say exactly why the dog was loose. Maybe he got away from his owner, or maybe they always let the dog out with no leash. I cannot judge what I do not know, but I can say that there are good reasons why we have leash laws.  I truly hope this was a case of a "door darting" dog, and not the case of a careless owner.

  1. I saw this on YouTube - so nuts! That cat is awesome and fast-acting! Such a good ending. Very unfortunate about the situation in the first place, of course.

  14. We keep watching the video, too. It's really scary what could have happened if the cat hadn't jumped to defend her little human. Our mom grew up with dogs and she loves them, too, so this video brings both happy and sad emotions.

  17. Cats rule!! *thumps chest* Dogs are mean. Well some of them are trained that way. They’re not born mean. (If I ever catch that damn blue tweety, I’ll fry him up good with some nip.)

Chase him all you want, but please don't fry him! I kinda like him! BOLOL!!!
