I'm super excited to share some of our busy weekend with you!
Our weekend started on Saturday when we went to a big fundraising even just outside of Ottawa, at a place called Bedrock Kennels.

We had a blast!

This event was to raise money for our local rescues. So, of course, I was NOT going to miss it!
You may remember me talking about our weekend plans earlier this week. I planned on taking all three of my huskies to this event, but knowing that Koda has not been to such a social setting before, I decided to take him to our regular dog park to see how he was. To see that post, go HERE.

Needless to say, I chose not to bring him, as I did not want to overwhelm him in this type of setting.
No worries, I made it up to him!

Our trip included our huskies Mika, and Lexus, along with my oldest daughter Brianna, and my mum. The hubster stayed home with my youngest daughter and Koda.

Here we are getting the huskies all packed up in my mums van to head to our weekend fun!

You can see how happy Mika looks! She loves road trips!

The trip there was lovely. Lots of beautiful scenery, and TONS of motorcycles! They were doing a "ride for dad" on their bikes. Of course I snapped a shot!

After an hour in the van, we arrived!

My huskies started getting super exited when we pulled in! They knew this was "their day!"

We got our backpacks, and headed in to the action!

I had been talking to the huskies about this event, and telling them that there was even a doggie water park, and I don't think they believed me, so when we got there, they sort of stopped and stared as if to say "it really does exist!"

We met some really pawsome doggies there!
Jake the husky was a fav!

He was a gorgeous husky, and mine took to him right away!
We even met a couple of Great Danes! Another one of my favorite breeds!

The bottom Dane, was for adoption. I gotta tell ya, if it was entirely up to me, and the hubster had no say . . . I most likely would have went home with this beautiful boy!

There were tons of great venues at the event. They even had a section where a profession trainer was putting on classes for everyone.

The above photo is a cake. A CAKE!!!!! I thought this was so cool!!! The fur of the dog looked so real! They were having a raffle draw for this delish dessert!

After we checked out all the different stands they had, we decided to go on the scavenger hunt!

They had a ton of land, and the scavenger hunt went all through the fields.

The above photo shows Mika and Lexus doing their best to find all of the treasures that needed to be found.

We had to follow these yellow arrows around the trails . . . or so we thought!
You see, we sort of got lost! There were two different things happening in these trails. An obstacle course, and a scavenger hunt. We started the scavenger hunt, got lost and ended up on the obstacle course. So we went with it! Huskies aren't hound dogs, so ya can't rely on them to show us the way! Meh!

The above photo was a little tricky. That is why you see no photos of the huskies there!
I led Mika across, and she kept wanting to go down into the water below, but I finally got her across. My daughter had Lexus, and Lexus FLAT OUT REFUSED to cross. I ended up leaving Mika with my mum and carrying Lex.

Here (above) was an over under obstacle. The dogs had a lot of fun with this one!

Then came the tires. Mika was very interested in these, but it was at this point, we relocated one of the hosts of the scavenger hunt! SO we decided to get back on THAT trail!

Part of the hunt included the huskies having to do a painting.
This was fun!

That is their finished masterpiece!
I think they did a great job! I dipped their paws into the paint, helped them of course.
Part of the scavenger hunt was to find 3 black kitties in different trees.
(not to worry, they were only wood kitties!)
We found  one! Can you see it in the tree?

There was a box of costume accessories before the finish line. and the dogs had to cross the line while wearing one of the items.

Here is Lexus (above) modeling her boa! Looking pawsitively pawsome!

And then we have the stunning Mika, looking very elegant in her pink boa!

We had to stop for a quick photo right before we crossed the finish line!
It was so much fun exploring the trails!

That was only the first half of our day!!!
We took the dogs for a nice cold drink and a break after the hunt/obstacle course, before we moved on to the next section of the day.

If you would would like to hear about the remainder of the event (the best part!) you will have to come on back and join us on Thursday!

Thanks for reading about our weekend fun!
How bout you? What did you do this weekend?

    1. We have not used the kennel. But I would definitely say to check it out! The people were friendly there, and the dogs that lived there were nice and healthy looking, and the facility looked very clean. It would definitely be worth checking it out!
