A husky Canada Day on Wordless Wednesday!

Hiya everyone!
Welcome to Wordless Wednesday!
This is a hop hosted by Blog Paws, and it is our day, as bloggers, to let our photos tell the story.
We all know my Wordless Wednesday posts aren't entirely wordless, but i'll try my best!

On yesterday's post, I shared some tips and photos on keeping your pets safe on Canada Day, and any other holiday throughout the hot summer days.
Now, I would like to share some of the photo's I took during our Canada Day fun!
I hope you enjoy. My family had a blast!
Happy Birthday Canada!

This first photo shows my husky Koda, showing off his Canada flag ensemble!

The two above photo's are my daughters, getting their faces painted.
My oldest daughter (top photo) asked for a butterfly wing design on her left eye. It turned out gorgeous!
My youngest daughter said these exact words to the face painting lady, "I would like my face to look like the orange kitty that my mommy takes care of outside."
I thought this was so sweet, as the kitty she is referring to, is one of the strays I give food and water to daily.
And she wanted to look just like him. She calls the kitty, Cinnamon.

This photo (above) is husky daddy Mark (my hubby) just sitting down for a break and a drink of water while the kids and I played.

Then of course we had to have a husky mom shot. Me and Koda pose for the camera.

Now for some bouncy castle fun!

My little girl was having a blast! My oldest daughter was with one of her friends at the bigger bouncy castle.

Then it was once again break time. We sat under a shady tree and had some lunch and lots of water, and a well deserved rest!

Notice in the photo above, we brought along our Kurgo Zippy portable bowl. It came in very handy!

We had such a fun day!
In case any of you are wondering, Koda is the only one of our huskies that we brought with us.
We did this for a couple different reasons.
Some of you may remember a few weeks back, myself, my mother and my oldest daughter, took my other two huskies (Mika and Lexus) out to a dog event at Bedrock Kennels. We had left Koda home for that one, because he had not been in such a busy setting before, with crowds of people everywhere.
See my Bedrock Kennel post : part one and part two.
Since then, we have been working with Koda on his anxiety, and socializing him more and more, so we brought him with us today, and he did GREAT!

I hope all of my Canadian furiends out there had a great time celebrating the birth of our country as well!
See you tomorrow for our Thoughtless Thursday Blog Hop.

  1. Ah, yes, the old dog rotation, we have that going on at my house too. Three dogs is just a bit much to take along to most places! Looks like you enjoyed Canada Day and now I know why it was so noisy in Minnesota yesterday...it was all that noise blowing down in the wind from our northern border ;) Happy WW!

    1. Yes, that's exactly right!!
I would love it if I could bring all 3 huskies along for everything we do, but those 3 plus my kids, is just to much. So the 'ol dog rotation works wonderfully!!!
You head us making noise did ya? hahahaha!!!! There was a ton of it, so I wouldn' t doubt it!

  5. Happy Canada Day. Looks like you had great weather and a fun day.

We used to bring Bailey to the July 4th parade and make a tent to keep him in the shade. He loved meeting all the people, especially the kids. Over the years the noise of the fire engines and the muskets started bothering him. When Katy came along she doesn't like crowds if she can't move in them. So parades were not a good fit for her. It was easier to leave them home together in the A/C.

    1. Yep! We had a great day! The weather held off for us, we were suppose to get some rain, and maybe even a storm, but thankfully, it only rained for about a half hour in the afternoon, and was blue skies from there!
We didn't bring Koda to the parade, and we also left him home when it was time or fireworks. But he definitely enjoyed the daytime festivities! Everybody loved him, and he soaked up the attention!

  6. Happy Canada Day!
It was hot here here, so Moses and Alma stayed inside near the a/c or outside in their doggy pools. The events around Calgary are a little chaotic for me to want to bring them anyway - even though they'd relish the attention, it gets a bit overwhelming (for them and me!).

    1. No doubt, and I don't blame you!! We just went to the events in our small town outside of Ottawa, rather then going to one with millions of people. So I knew he'd be ok here. And we made sure to give tons of water and breaks in the shade. Also, the whole family took a break and went for a swim to kill off some of the heat too. We had a lot of fun! I am glad I decided to take him, he had so much fun!

  11. It looks like you had a wonderful day....yay! Did the rain hold off for the fireworks?
I think it's great you took Koda with you, that you have worked with him so he was able to go. With multiple dogs, even when they're well behaved, it can be difficult to take them all places, so sometimes you just have to pick and choose. I think they love the individual attention when they are the "chosen one" too. :)

    1. Oh, we had such a great day! It was really nice to just take a break and have a family day!
Koda had a blast! He got so much attention, and he loved every minute of it! And your absolutely right, they love the one on one time. And Mika and Lexus got to go to the Bedrock dog event with us, so it was only fair! And yes, it is WAY hard to try and take 3 dogs all at once to these things, especially when I have kids as well.
The rain did hold off!!! We were so happy!!!!! It sprinkled for about 15 minutes in the afternoon, and then blue sky's! *phew* we would have had some upset kids if there were no fireworks!

  16. Great photos! It looks like Canada Day was a great success for you and your family. Here in Detroit we get a double independence celebration because we are right across the river from Canada. Usually Windsor and Detroit join forces for a great fireworks display on the 4th of July.
