Welcome to this weeks "OMD" post.
Today is the day where I like to share pet related stories that will make you say "Oh My Dog!"
Whether it is an amazing rescue, animals in need, or something incredibly moving, today is the day where we share.
The story I chose for your Monday, is of a dog named Wallace.
Wallace the PitBull is no longer in this world, however his story lives on to touch the lives of thousands.
What's so special about this story?
Wallace was diagnosed with cancer, like many other pups of the world.
He was given a period of 2 weeks to 3 months to live.
You see, Wallace was already special, as he was once an unwanted shelter dog, and after he was adopted, he became a champion frisbee dog, in a very loving home.
The beautiful Wallace lived ONE WHOLE YEAR more then he was given by the doctors.
He was a fighter! He made it to his 11th birthday.
This pup had become pretty famous by then, with the whole world behind him as he was beating the odds of canine cancer.
As his birthday drew near, a TON of people started donating toys for him, to help celebrate his special day.
Check out this beautiful video of Wallace opening up his birthday gifts.
This video touched my heart so deeply. To see how happy this pup was to get his gifts, and just be living his life, was truly inspiring to me. It certainly shows just how special his birthday truly was that year.
The reason I decided to hunt down a "birthday theme" story for you today, is that it just so happens to be my husky, Lexus's birthday! She turns two years old today!
The story above is just so inspiring, and I hope and pray that I can give my huskies a long happy life, as Wallace had with his humans.
Happy Birthday Lexus!
Make sure you all come back tomorrow to take part in our birthday celebration for Lexus.
Thanks everyone :)
