Thanks for popping by!
We are joining the Tasty Tuesday blog hop today with Sugar the Golden Retriever and Kol's Notes.
I was inspired by Sugar, when I read her post about doggy ice cream.
I used her recipe, but, I sort of cheated a wee bit!
A lot of people want to feed their dogs human ice cream, but what they don't realize is that some dogs can be super sensitive to dairy products.
So, this doggy ice cream recipe is a paw-fect treat for your pet!
Although, I have to say, I am not against giving your pet the odd, tiny bit of human ice cream, every now and again, (providing it does not upset their stomach) my huskies love it once and a while.
How about you? Do you give your dogs ice cream?
This recipe needs only 2 ingredients - bananas and peanut butter!
You can check out Sugar's original recipe for the ice cream HERE.
This is me, cheating at the recipe. Ha!
- Mash 2 brown spotted bananas in a bowl, until you get a paste like substance. Using brown spotted bananas makes it easier for you to mash.
- Mix in a couple tablespoons of peanut butter
- Mix and mash until everything is well blended
- Place in a freezer safe container - Freeze overnight for a solid treat, or at least 2 to 3 hours for a softer treat.
I froze mine overnight, because my huskies prefer extra frozen- it gives them a challenge!
Above is a collage of my pack, loving their Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream!
Although, they always want more more more!
When they were done their treats, they all had a look of satisfaction on their faces!
It was a hot day, the kids were playing in the mini pool, and this doggy ice cream was a paw-fect treat for the huskies!
We are also participating in the Tuesday Tails blog hop.
This hop is hosted by Lisa from Dogs and Paws and Sue from Talking Dogs
