Silver Paw Pet Tags VS. Regular tags

Hiya everyone.
TGIF! I hope you all have a PAW-tastic weekend!

You may remember back in May, I did a review for a company called Silver Paw Pet tags.
I received 3 of their unique, durable, stainless steel pet tags for my huskies.

If you missed my full review, please take a moment to check it out HERE.

On that post from May, I promised you I would do an updated post, to show how well Silver Paw tags have held up against a regular dog tag purchased from your vet, or a pet store vending machine.

It has been roughly 6 months.
I used Koda's tags for my test, as his tags (from the vet) are the newest out of the bunch, and had no marks or rust or discolor of any kind.

Please forgive the quality of these photos. Close ups always get a little blurry with my camera :-/
As you can see from the photo, the red tag (right) has a TON of discolor, the letters are almost warn off, and most of the paint is gone from the edges.

This is the back side.
Same thing.
Most of the paint is off. There are chew marks, dents, scrapes etc...

BUT . . .

On the Silver Paw tag (left) there is not ONE SINGLE mark!!! Not one!
I am extremely impressed with these tags.
Dogs are really hard on their tags, and there are no scratches to be found.

Needless to say, they passed the test.
I plan to do another updated post in roughly 6 months, so stay tuned!

Lexus, showing off her SilverPaw pet tag!

    1. They are GORGEOUS!!!
I have been so impressed with them. Literally not one single mark on them!

  2. Those tags do look like they hold up really well. Our dog license tag always ends up looking like yours when it wears out, all scratched and sad. Sadly Laika loses a lot of tags as well, but I think that might be a problem with her owner not knowing how to clasp them. But you know, I'll just blame her anyways :)

    1. Actually that is something I didn't mention. They come with a super durable link for the clasp as well!!!

  3. Wow that's awesome! My girls don't really wear their collars much so we haven't really experienced the tags wearing out.

    1. Ah ok. It is mandatory here that pets wear their collars and their tags, so as you can see, we get lots of damage to the tags.

  4. Ours get lost or damaged quite often so we just replace them and not bother about it to be honest. Have a fabulous Friday.
    Best wishes Molly.

  7. Thanks for sharing this info on these tags. We need to get so sturdy tags with our home info on it for our foster dogs. The other day I noticed Steeler lost his shelter ID as he was playing with Veruca . Steel tags might be the answer.

  12. Happy Pet Parade. Are you comparing rabies tags with the new ones or personal info tags. Can't tell from the photos.

    1. These ones are rabies tags, but he the id tags you would get from the pet store or wherever are the exact same. The paint always wears off and they also get bite marks and anything else on them! UGH! I was so glad to find Silver Paw pet tags!!!

  17. We still love ours too....Cricket and Luke each have one. Some of the lettering on the very bottom is starting to wear just a tiny bit, but you can still read it all. I still plan to get one for Sheba when her current one wears out. For some reason her old cheap tag won't wear out, I guess because I want it too! LOL

Interesting that the bottom letters are starting to go. How long have you had yours?

    2. We got ours at the end of May. At least I know they are guaranteed and we can get them fixed if it does wear off more.

    3. Oh wow! Strange! But yes, your right, they are guaranteed!
