The Itchy 21 Huskies

*Edit* : This post is also part of the Tuesday Tails blog hop. We are to post animals in need of adoption for this hop, and even though the huskies in this post are not currently up for adoption, they will be. So I hope you will keep the Pet Angels Rescue in mind, and the itchy 21 huskies, if your looking to adopt in the near future. Thank you.

This hop is hosted by Dogs 'N' Pawz
 and Talking dogs.

Hiya everyone!
I hope you all had a great weekend, and a wonderful start to your week!
The weather has been super warm here in Ontario for the past week, so we have spent a ton of time outdoors trying to take it all in before it gets cool again.

This week for our "OMD!" recue story, we bring you the case of The Itchy 21 Huskies.

You may have heard about this recently, as it turned out to be a huge animal hoarding case in Oklahoma.

There were 21 Siberian huskies found at the residence, all in very poor condition.
Pet Angel Rescue worked with the Sheriffs, to convince the owners to surrender these dogs.
Once the dogs were surrendered, the health conditions really started to surface.
Everything from numerous different parasites, to a severe case of Mange.

These dogs were in such horrid condition, that the rescue thought they had found a few 10 week old puppies, but turned out to be 6 months old! These pups were so growth stunted and skinny, they looked much younger than they actually were.

The happy part of this rescue story is that all of the conditions these huskies have are treatable.
Thanks to Pet Angel Rescue, they are currently being treated and will return to good health soon.

Because the mange that these huskies had was contagious, the rescue had to work to set up a completely different area for them, keeping them separated from the other rescue pets.
Money was spent into the thousands to create this space for the dogs, therefore Pet Angel Rescue has set up a fundraising event rightfully titled "The Itch 21 Huskies." (due to their mange)
If you would like to make a donation, please visit their page HERE, or if you would like to contact Pet Angel Rescue about adopting one of these dogs feel free to send an email (here) for more info.

If you cannot make a donation but would still like to help, please share about these beautiful huskies.
Let's spread this story, and help the Angels make a difference!

Huge thanks to Five Sibes Mom for bringing this story to my attention, and doing their part to help these dogs.

Our kitty furiends over at Savannah's Paw Tracks are up to something!
Do YOU know what it is??
It's something big....something HUGE!!!
....hmmmm curiosity peaks, but does NOT kill the cat!
Stay tuned!

  6. Oh wow, I've seen hoarding situations but never a hoarding of Huskies! I cannot imagine so many Huskies cramped into one place. I'm so glad there is a rescue effort for them. I will certainly share & try to help. I hope they all find homes.
