October is a special month.
Why you ask?
October is adopt-a-shelter dog month!
You may be wondering, why adopt a shelter dog?
Allow me to be the one to fill you in!
1) You are saving a life!
2) Supporting rescues and volunteers all over the world.
3) You are giving a pet a second chance at life and love.
4) Shelter dogs have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated.
5) You are being a voice for shelter dogs.
These dogs have a lot of love to give.
They are very thankful for their second chance at life, and will not be shy in showing you that.
If these are not enough reasons to encourage to shop shelter, than just imagine all of these pets, without homes, just waiting for the right human to walk in, give them a pat on the head, and say "I want this one!"
Keeping with "adopt a shelter dog month" I am taking part in the Tuesday Tails blog hop, hosted by,
Lisa from Dogs 'n' Pawz and Sue from Talking Dogs.
Meet Abe :
Abe is a Siberian Husky / Blue Heeler mix.
I shared Abe's story quite a few months ago, and he is still anxiously awaiting his fur-ever home.
He spent his birthday (this past March) in the shelter where he turned 1 year old.
Abe was originally found abandoned, and tied to a post in front of a shelter.
Despite his cruel treatment by his previous owner, Abe is an extremely happy pup!
He is full of love and energy, and loves to be around people.
He is great with other dogs, however, he prefers to eat alone, as he is food protective.
You can find Abe, and many other shelter huskies at
Hairy Houdini Siberian Husky Rescue in Michigan.
If you would like more info on Abe the Husky, send an email to Nancy at email@example.com or phone
Also see my "Adopt a Husky" page and find a shelter near you.
Thanks for coming by, and see you tomorrow!
