Today I have a sad yet very heart warming story, with a happy ending too!
A lady named Danielle, who is a Vet Tech, was working one day when a puppy was brought in.
The pup was in critical condition. She did not realize just how bad the situation was, as she had been working in the room next to this pup. However she explains having felt a certain pull. Something drawing her to that room. She didn't fight the feeling. Danielle went in to see the pup who had been brought in.
It was then that she discovered the pup had severe burns on him. She explained it as looking like someone had poured gasoline on him and set him on fire.
Danielle had asked if there was anything that could be done. They told her he could be saved, but it would be a lot of money.
Well, that was all she needed to hear.
Danielle decided to do whatever it took to save him, and spend whatever amount of money it required.
A specialist was called in, who began doing everything in their power to save the dog, including facial reconstruction surgery.
She named him Mister D. The above photo shows him grown up, and happily chillaxing on his bed.
Even though some people tell Danielle his appearance scares them, she loves him to pieces and explains him to be so loving and caring. He loves cats too, and likes to share his food with them.
That is just the beginning of this story.
You see, last year Danielle was in a horrific motorcycle accident.
She had tried to avoid a collision with a car, and the next thing she knew, she was laying on the pavement with a broken skull awaiting a lifelight helicopter to come lift her off to the hospital.
Danielle describes the one thing she remembers while she was unconscious. She remembers worrying about her pup,
Mister D. She knew she had to wake up, for her pets sake, if nothing else. And she did just that.
The nurses even told her the very first thing she muttered was in fact, Mister D.
When she was well enough to go home, Mister D was of course, ecstatic that she was back.
He was taking care of her. Always checking on her, and even putting his paw on her head often, and letting out a long sigh.
Danielle says he became like her musketeer.
She says it was much due to him that she pulled through. Her memory while she was unconscious, plus him caring for her so much while she was in pain.
This is Danielle and Mister D now.
Happy and healthy, together.
They literally saved each others life.
I can't help but feel that these two were destined for each other.
They met due to fate, and fate kept them together.
That's all for today, hope you enjoyed our OMD story this week.
