Santa has been fired!

No, i'm not talking about the Santa we know and love from the pole.

A mall Santa from California has been fired along with one of his working elves from the day of this incident.

What happened?

Meet Abcde Santos (pronounced Ab-suh-dee) and her service PitBull dog named Pupcake :

This 7 year old girl along with her dog went to the mall, as millions of other kids do each year, to meet Santa. She had her dog with her (as she always does) because she is autistic.
Imagine the heart break of this child as Santa and his elf turned her away.
Santa claimed to have an allergy to dogs, but even after the family offered to leave the dog at home, he would not see her.

It later was said that the reason behind this was because of the breed of the dog, although I can't help but think it had a little something to do with her autism as well, but that is just my opinion.

After a social media viral campaign with #savepupcakeschristmas the mall officials invited the little girl AND her dog to come have a private session of photos and a meeting with the new Santa.

I am glad to hear it all worked out in the end, but I mean, come on Santa!
How dare you!

  1. I do remember this story when it happened! I was glad that mean-butt Santa and the elf that was working with him were fired! Happy Monday!

  2. what an awful way to treat a special needs child,xx Rachel

  3. I don't get that at all - so even after the family said they'd leave the dog at home he wouldn't see her?? What a mean spirited duo that Santa & Elf are to turn away a child! What kind of person turns away a child, especially a child with special needs?? Reminds me of that movie Bad Santa, only this guy & his elf are worse! Giant lumps of coal for these two - Glad they got canned!

    1. I know :( How horrible it would be for a child to be turned away from Santa!!!!!! Ridiculous!

  4. How unbelievable cruel to do this to the young girl. She did not deserve that treatment nor id her dog. I think people can be very cruel. That Santa needs to be 'defrocked' & never be allowed to represent Santa again!!!
I hope the girl & her dog weren't too upset.....

    1. Agreed!!! He should NEVER work as a Santa again!!! Horrible!

  5. What a rotten Santa! The REAL Santa would NEVER behave like that. That mall guy was clearly a fake, in EVERY SENSE of the word.

  6. Yikes, Santa needs some sensitivity training!

  7. They probably need to be a little more careful about who they hire to play Santa. It is an important job, after all!

    1. I know what you mean. A santa in a mall plays a huge part for the children, they should definitely be thoroughly checked before being able to take this joB!

  8. That's just horrible! Autistic kids are wonderful - I have worked with them for years. If he was really that "allergic to dogs" I really don't see why someone couldn't have stood in for him for a few minutes. I'm glad that his employers took action. I've played many costumed characters - no one actor is irreplaceable.

  9. That Santa deserved to be fired! He's more like the Grinch.

  10. I heard about that story!! What a jerk!

  11. What a bully that Santa was. I hope HE got coal in his stocking this year as well as his pink slip! I love Cupcake dressed as reindeer.

  12. Some people! Glad the mall worked it out so she and her pup could visit a nice santa.

    1. Me too. At least the little girl AND her dog got to visit with a nice Santa in the end!
