Love your dog - and their faults

blog hop

We are going to keep with the love theme since tomorrow is the big "V" day!
If you missed our post yesterday, check out a super easy frozen heart treat recipe for your dog!

love your pet]

If your here reading this right now (yes you!) it is quite obvious you must be a pet lover/owner.
Every day we hear so many reasons why people love their pets, what makes their pets so great, how their pets have helped them etc . . .

BUT -

Less often, we hear about their pets faults.
I mean, who wants to highlight faults in someone or some-pet anyways?

Today, I do!
There isn't one pet (or human) in this world that doesn't have one single fault.
At least not in my humble opinion. But hey, who wants to be perfect anyway?

love your dog

My huskies each have their own "faults," and to me, their faults make them who they are just as much as everything I love about them makes them who they are.

Mika likes to whine. Like, a lot! Not always, but at certain points of the day, or if she doesn't feel like jumping the baby gate into the living room, she will whine and whine....and did I mention whine? Until I get up to open the gate for her.
I give her a bath - she whines.
I don't walk her on time - she whines.
I brush her - she whines
I take her to the groomer for a nail trim - she whines.
Go to the vet - she whines.
When I make dinner - she whines.

You get the point.

Koda likes to jump.
He is a pretty big dog, so it's not that cute anymore. Any time I walk in the door he attempts to jump all over me. He also has a habit of batting me in the eye with his GI-normous paw!
It hurts!

Lexus has a huge habit of doing about a thousand circles outside before she will pee.
She has ALWAYS done this. I don't usually mind so much, until it is pouring rain, or freezing cold and we are both stuck outside for a half hour till she decides to finally choose a spot and pee.

My point in all of this is, I love my huskies!
No matter what, I will always love my huskies.
I love the good...I love the not so good...and I love the "Oh my dog will you PLEASE stop whining"

Your turn! What are your pets biggest faults?
Come on, be honest!

Now for some Flashback Friday fun with memories!

love your pet

This photo was a while back, around the time Koda came to our pack.
Lexus and Koda hit it off instantly. They played together, slept together, snuggled together and just had tons of fun! It took Mika a few days to warm up to him, but she came around soon enough.

Love my fur-babies, love them absolutely, unconditionally.

  6. The only fault my girls have is that they may be a bit TOO clingy...but that's ok by me!! Happy Friday!

  7. I like to bark...and Bark...and even BARK. I will bark at the delivery guy when he comes to my door and when he doesn't come to my door. I will bark at a leaf blowing in the wind. Yes, I like to bark!

    1. hahahahaha!!! You'd make a good match with Mika then! Barking and whining go hand in hand I think!

  8. Seren's biggest fault is she cries ALL THE TIME! Karma's biggest fault is he likes to bite Seren--and eat the other pet's food. Magic's biggest fault--he can't stop playing fetch 24/7. But wouldn't trade 'em for anything!

  9. Perfection is so overrated! Imperfections make life interesting. Let's see, Isis has a bad habit of demand barking for attention or if she perceives it to be meal time. It's a really low, menacing growly-pants kind of sound. And it's Loud! I can't seem to break her of that habit. Phoebe is an angel, but her constant need for attention can be a bit much sometimes. If Isis is getting attention & affection, Phoebe has to come running over and try to push her way into the action. She's so needy! I love them both to pieces, faults & all!

  10. Our pups are pretty pawsome, but they do, of course, have a few annoying features...Missy is very vocal in everything she does, from yawning, to sounding like a demon when she plays with her brother Buzz, to barking and trying to run after falling leaves ;-) Her big brother is a big whiny butt whenever his nails are in need of a trim ~ although we started handling both of their paws early on (Missy is very comfortable having her nails trimmed).

  11. Oh goodness Mika and Laika would make a prefect pair. I couldn't imagine the noises they could make together. Laika has her days when her whining is nonstop. It's my boyfriends fault for being suckered into her demands - but I can't get him to admit it.

    1. hahaha!!! Oh I know what you mean! Every time my mother comes to visit Mika is at her worst!!!! She whines and whines and whines until mom gives in and takes her for a walk. Mika knows this now, so it has only got worse!

  13. Well let's see! I like to whine, and I take forever to find the oh so right spot to have a poop, yes we have several acres, but I am very selective about the spot I choose. I also like to jump up and stick my nose in places no dog should stick its nose. But hey, I am super cute, so how could you not love me!

    1. hahaha! Koda does that too! i didn't even think of that one to post with these today! Always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong!

  17. I can give you one of Jinx's biggest faults right now as I speak he's doing it to me. He rams into me with his BIG head when he wants to be fed and sometimes it hurts. He doesn't stop until I feed him. *sigh* Abby used to nip me, hard sometimes that I miss more than I can bear to tell you. Ping sprays when he is upset. Me no likey! Annabelle cannot help she gets 'stuff' stuck on her back fur because she has so much fluff. But she objects to me cleaning it for her ... it's always a dance when I try to help her out. Boo...wow I can't think of anythin. She's perfect. MOL

  18. I totally agree with you! It is so important that we love each other through out faults! My kitties have faults too. Manna has to be involved with EVERYTHING that goes on in our apartment. She wants to be right there in our faces no matter what we are doing. This isn't always a big deal, but it can be when she gets in the way. Cinco on the other hand will poop on our bed every time the litterbox isn't up to his standards. That little booger actually pooped right on top of me while I was sleeping once.I still love both of my furkids with all my heart though.

  19. I love this because we sure do love our dogs in spite of getting frustrated with their faults. Luke is a combo of Mika and Koda....he's a whiner and a jumper! Cricket barks at every little noise, and then gets Luke going too. She also guards her toys and food with her life and can get snarly sometimes. Sheba's worst fault is that she's a bed hog!

    1. And I think it's great that so many people are commenting sharing their pets faults. They aren't perfect, neither are we, so I think sometimes we need to point things out and remind ourselves that unconditional love is what its all about! It is an especially good reminder on those trying days too!

  20. OK, you asked...ME, a very picky eater, I don't like it I throw it out on the floor, some where.............Bites, don't like ANYBODY messing with Dad, he whines about it........MIckey, like to let it go anywhere, has to wear a diaper in the house.

  21. Hi Y'all!

Oh I can answer what annoying habit I have! I'm way to vocal! However I do know what "shhh" and "quiet" mean. I prove that when we travel and stay in hotels. At home I just choose to ignore those commands. BOL!

  24. Bain whines a lot at times too, the boyfriend encouraged it unfortunately. He also likes to do #2 on top of tall plants, sometimes prickly plants, and large logs. Because of this he normally gets his business on himself!

    He is my special boy!

  25. This is a great post and you are soooo right! I often feel guilty because while I love Dakota, he often annoys me far more than Cody does. Why? Mostly the BARKING! He doesn't bark all day mind you, but when he barks...HE BARKS...on and on and on !! Also, sometimes when I am trying to get work done and he wants kisses every second I get annoyed, shame on me. One day I will be wishing he were here giving me tons of kisses. I love him to pieces but those are the two things that drive me crazy.....I love him no matter what though! xoxo
