10 Things About Vet Techs You May Not Know

Veterinary Technicians play a huge part in the care and well being of our pets.
I think vet techs don't get nearly enough credit for what they do. I was thrilled when Andrea from veterinarytechnicianguide.com contacted me with her infographic. Below, you will see 10 things about vet techs you may not know. Things (if you were planning on become a vet tech) your career councilor would not tell you.

I found this infographic quite interesting. I hope you do too, and maybe even someone out there reading this right now is thinking about becoming a vet tech. If so, I hope this helps shed some light on it for you! Thank you to veterinarytechnicianguide.com for this infographic. You can see her whole post on the subject, and some other great info on her site by clicking on the link above.

  1. I love the infographic! #1 is so very true... and it's very weird. I've only cried over a very few handful of euthanasias and have always wondered why. It's not that I don't care or something. I guess it's just some sort of weird ability... I don't know, it's hard to explain. So many of these are brutally honest. Love it!

    1. Thanks Ann, I knew as a vet tech in the past that you would appreciate this. It's strange to think how much a job can change how a person or animal lover would react in a situation.

  4. No vet techs here, but we all love our vet techs. Our vets AND vet techs have all cried when we had to say good-bye to Dakota, Thunder, and Phantom - they truly love our dogs. Phantom was with this practice for 15 years + a few months. We think they have very interesting jobs that must be both rewarding and at times sad. Great infographic.

  12. We like our vet, but the wonderful vet techs he has are also part of the reason we stick with him. They are the people you talk to more, and they are often such a big help.

  13. I use to think that working in a Vets office would be a lot of fun, until I realized that there is a very swift downside to ill and aged animals and how hard it is to deal with loss and abuse. It is no picnic walk.
