Family Fun At The Lilac Festival

Hi everyone. I'm so glad you decided to pop by today. Yesterday I let you all know that for one day only, this blog is gone to the humans! I really hope you guys don't mind, but I would love to share my weekend with all of you! This past Saturday, my daughters cheer leading team was invited to the Lilac Festival so they could perform their last show for the school year. The festival was in a small town called Franktown - which is the lilac capitol of Ontario, Canada.

When we arrived, there were performers called The Junkyard Symphony.
They are all about teaching not just kids, but adults too, about recycling and taking care of our planet. Every piece of their band instruments were recycle bins, hubcaps etc...
Oh and BTW, they were HILARIOUS!!

They were better than any stand up comic I had ever seen as far as jokes were concerned. Everything from jokes, to juggling and even making rubber chickens dance! Then he was asking the kids sitting up front if they wanted to be volunteers. My youngest daughter was called up to be one of the volunteers! Check her out!

She was so brave going up there, and she had a ton of fun too! He was getting her to dance, putting funny hats on her, and just having a great time! Next up, it was time for my oldest daughter, and her cheer team to perform.

Their performance was so awesome, and I am one proud mama! After their main performance, the girls went to change into stunt outfits, and they all broke off into different stunt groups to perform separately.

This (above) is my daughters stunt team. They were fantastic! Then the girls got to call kids up from the audience and teach them some cheer moves. Of course, my little one was first in line.

So brave! 4 years old, and totally trusting of these girls lifting her up in the air. It has a lot to do with her older sister always practicing the moves at home ;) The day was topped off by my girls getting to be firefighters, policemen, criminals and a wagon ride!

The horses were gorgeous, and on the wagon ride, we went through a huge lilac tree trail, filled with such an amazing smell, and a lady on the ride told us a ton of history about the town. It was fantastic!

My girls paying in the police car

This is my little one playing in the police car. After this, they got to spray the fire hose at some targets the firemen had set up. All in all, it was a great day! My mother came out to spend the day with us as well, and it was well worth the trip.

Thanks so much for joining in our weekend fun photos everyone! The blog will be back to the huskies tomorrow, promise!
