Family Fun At The Arena - Husky Loves To Run!

kisses from my husky
You may remember a few days ago, I shared a post with you about taking my huskies to the outdoor arena to work on their recall, as well as let them have a good run. Yesterday, we decided to take all of the human kids with us, and go play some hockey, shoot some hoops, and let Koda have his one on one time with mom. And it was a BLAST! While the boys were off playing sports at one end of the arena, Koda and my 2 daughters were running around the other end!

In the photo above, you can see Koda running down to inspect what the boys were up to.

Koda is high tailing it on over to try and steal their ball!

Then, he made his way back to me....as quick as he possibly could!

Here he comes!!

Then after he took some time contemplating his next move, I thought it would be a good time for a break in the shady area. *Always important to provide shade, water and breaks when your dogs are playing out in the sun*

Koda and I took a nice break, and cooled down in the shade.

I could have easily fallen asleep leaning on his head ;)

Before leaving the arena, I was able to snap a priceless photo of my oldest daughter and Koda (above)

relaxing with my husky and my daughter

At the end of the day, we found some nice grass beside the ball diamond where the kids were playing baseball, and decided to lay down and chillax together with my daughter.

I love seeing how Koda interacts with the kids. He just loves to play, and run along side them. And he is equally happy to just relax and lay down with mom. We had a wonderful day out, and I can't wait to take Mika and Lexus next time for their one on one time with me.

The bond between a husky and his human child

I'll leave you with this photo. I snapped it in the arena. My daughter and Koda were racing back and forth together, then decided to just walk, side by side. It was the most beautiful part of the entire day.

  3. With Mom's first dog, she used to go to the fenced tennis courts to let her run. We have a hockey rink she would love to use, but they take the boards away at the entry point for the summer, so there is a good 12 foot opening we can't plug up, so no dice. Luckily, we have our yard, but it is always fun to let loose in other places.

  11. What a great day with Koda and kids. We have a local outdoor hockey arena I could get into but Kilo is terrified. The one time hubby daughter and I took him, I had to carry him through the park then he spent the whole time hiding or trying to escape and get back to the car.
