Summer Dawgs - Fun In The Sun

Summer Dawgs - Fun In The Sun
Lexus is all ready for some fun in the sun!
There is one problem - Canada, Ontario is currently under a major heat advisory. While that does make it difficult to have 'a lot' of outdoor fun, it certainly doesn't have to prevent it! It's a good idea to take extra precautions during heat waves like these, as heat stroke can take effect in minutes.

Well what are we suppose to do then?

My biggest tip is to avoid certain times of the day. From 11:00 am to about 3 or 4:00 pm, I generally keep my dogs (and human kids) indoors. There is plenty of light left in the day after 4:00pm, and it's a perfect time to head down to the beach, take a ride in the boat, or have some fun in the yard playing fetch, and splashing in the kiddie pool. Even still taking breaks, and drinking water often, is crucial.

Summer Dawgs - Fun In The Sun

Lexus knows what she wants to do today. I think she is trying to give me a hint, what do you think?

Summer Dawgs - Fun In The Sun

Hmmm.....she has her sun hat on, a beach towel, and is sitting in front of the boat, what could she possible be trying to tell me?

Time for some fun in the sun!

Be safe this summer, but remember to get out and have some fun!

  1. Stay cool guys! It's been hot here too, as usual. Our AC has been broken in my bedroom and I've had to make an extra effort to keep all the animals cool. The rats live in here, and Shiner is in here a lot.

  3. It is brutally hot here too. Mom walked us late last night, around 9:00 p.m. - even then it was pretty much unbearaable. The humidity is fierce. But we did sleep well in our comfy a/c home.

  5. It is stupid hot and humid down here! We avoid going outside during those times as well. We can't even walk the boys until around 8:30 p.m. because the pavement is too hot. 109° heat index today.

  6. It finally feels like summer here too, but no heat advisories yet. We still got up and out early though. We might go outside in the afternoon, but we limit it to about 10-15 minutes or so, with water in the pool if anyone is hot (that includes me...I like to dip my feet in!). Summer is so short here we try to enjoy as much of it as we can while staying safe.

    1. Yea, it's definitely best to limit activity right now. We are under a heat warning all week, I am anxious to feel the normal summer weather again!

  7. You've got the hots there, too, huh? We had some rainy, cool and dreary weather right up to yesterday morning but then in the afternoon, it turned all muggy. Icky. I'm spending today indoors.

  8. your photos are so cute and your tips are pawesome! Since I can't handle heat well due to kidney stones...I do the same. I either go out really early or much, much later to avoid the heat of the day, which is like from 12-2pm. xoxo
