Healing Paws - Everything Has a Purpose

Hey guys, I am SO glad you stopped by today!
If you follow me on Facebook, you may have seen me post this graphic yesterday:

Those of you who are familiar with my blog and have followed me for a while, will remember I have 2 cats, Winter and Kiki - none of which are black, and none of which, are kittens. So the question remains, why would I create this graphic? Who is this mysterious black kitten? Stay tuned to the blog tomorrow, and I'll tell you all about it.

Nahhhhh, just joking! Everyone, I would love for you to meet the newest addition to my family - Robbi. If you read my blog yesterday, you will remember me mentioning the loss of a very close family friend of ours. Well, after a very difficult, and emotional phone call from our friend's wife, my hubby went out in our yard to get some air, his eyes full of tears, when a tiny black kitten wandered up to him, then crept under our step. There seemed to be an instant connection. We couldn't leave the tiny kitten outside, so we brought her inside the house, in a cat carrier. After some inspection, I estimate her age to be between 5 and 7 weeks old. We gave her some food and water, which she ate and drank happily. She is underweight, so I'm sure the food was very welcome in her mind.

I contacted my local shelter, vets, and posted online, while searching my area for lost pets. It seems no one has lost her, and my best guess is she was born a stray. So.... we have decided to keep her. (we will leave the online, lost pet post up for a little while longer... just in case.) I'm not sure of anyone else's beliefs, but the way she popped up like that, during a very difficult time, to me it was a sign. We needed her, she needed us, and we have named her Robbi in memory of our friend Rob, who passed away a few short days ago. I believe she is meant to be with us. I believe some part of this kitten, was sent from him.

Thanks so much to all of you for your kind words yesterday on my post, as well as on my personal FB page. Much love to all you! Your words mean more than you will ever know.

This weeks BlogPaws wordless Wednesday blog hop was anything but wordless.
Hope you guys didn't mind.

  1. My mom is a firm believer in things happening for a reason, and this was a definite cat meant to be for you. The little one will help you smile when you want to cry and be someone to focus your energy on in this sad time for you. So sorry about the loss of your friend.

  9. Now I have tears in my eyes! I totally believe that your friend sent her to you. Not long after my mother died, a stray cat was wandering around the store I worked at, and we ended up taking him home. I always believed my Mom sent him to us, knowing I needed a distraction.
Congratulations on your new family member - what a cutie!
