What To Get A Dog Who Has It All? A Shopping Spree At #PetSmart

Most of you know I had my boy Koda at the vet a few days back, to get neutered. Well, he was feeling sorry for himself (or maybe it was just me feeling sorry for him) so I decided to take him out for a day of spoiling and shopping sprees at PetSmart. I had previously won a gift card from Two Little Cavaliers for a $100 PetSmart gift card, so me holding onto it worked out perfectly for Koda. He had a fabulous day shopping!

Koda loves truck rides, and is always one happy, smiling pup when we go anywhere that involves getting into a vehicle.

Koda taking a trip to Petsmart

Once we got there, the employees at Petsmart just loved Koda. Everyone was fascinated with his eyes. Of course, there was one dog there who was causing trouble, barking like mad, and trying to get over to Koda and play. I kept him away though, as he is still healing from his surgery. After we made our way through the first couple isles (away from "crazy dog") he went straight for the toys!

He wasn't too interested in the stuffed toys. Those are Mika's favorites, but not him...

He went straight for the rope toys. He loves playing with ropes, but we didn't purchase one of these as we still have our durable handmade rope toys from DBDT, and he plays with them daily!

After he realized I wasn't buying him the ropes, he was off to the Kong section. He picked out a fabulous Wubba Kong toy that was mama approved!

By the time we were ready to go, the hundred dollars was spent and Koda came out strutting his spoiled self through the parking lot. One thing I noticed - it is really hard to buy things for a dog who already has everything! And i'm truly not meaning to brag or anything like that, but, I mean, it was kind of funny. Everything "the man" kept picking up to say we should get this, my answer was, "nope, he already has that!" We actually paced up and down the aisles for quite some time before figuring out what to purchase. You can never have enough Greenie, so that was first on the list, then we picked out some surf and turf fish treats, bully sticks, toys AND my favorite buy of the day.....a slow feeder bowl.

You guys, I can not even begin to tell you how much I love this bowl! Koda is a bit of a piggy when it comes to dinner time, and I have been meaning to pick one of these bad boys up for a while now. MAN, am I glad I did! The difference was phenomenal! It is hazardous to a dog's health when they gobble food too fast (which I will explain more in an upcoming post) so I was thrilled with the difference just one bowl actually made!

And not to worry, the other huskies got to enjoy everything we bought as well. Mika really loves the wubba toy!

They all had a blast gnawing away on the Bully Sticks too!

bully sticks

Bully sticks, are very healthy for dogs, and great for their teeth as well! Needless to say, the whole day was a success! I got a chance to spoil my huskies, and go shopping all in one day! That's it for now, thanks for coming by, and I hope to see you again tomorrow!

  4. I luvs to go shopping wif my mum, but when the temps are as high as they are now, I do not get to go to too many places as I don't like getting my paws burned on the black surfaces!!! Even when we take the van (paratransit) it gets too hot for me while waiting for mum to go up and down on the lift!!!

Hope you enjoy all your new toys.

  5. I know exactly what you mean. I haven't been to a Petco or Petsmart in more than 6 months. I do most of my ordering online with small business owners now, but even that's hard. I need to go through their toys and treats to see what they have so that I don't do duplicates.

There are a couple of toys that are "the more the merrier" because all of our dogs love them.

    1. Exactly! Like squeaky toys, or Kong Wubbas!!! LOL!!! It's funny, because I really had no plan when we left. I figured it would be a good little shopping spree and I could stock up on needed things. I felt like a tool when we got there because all I could do was walk the aisles, and had NO clue what to buy that I don't already have for the huskies!!!! LOL!!

  6. Oh, gift cards make shopping so much fun! We do the same thing when we take the boys into PetSmart. It seems they already have one of everything! (And I thought my human kids were spoiled) BOL!

  7. How fun. At first $100 seems like so much and then it is not enough. Love that bowl with the paw print. At first we thought it was a cake mold of some sort!

  8. Lucky Koda!!! Ciara loves stuffies, but destuffs them. She shreds rope toys. So doesn't Lightning. But give us each a good Kong toy - we would be thrilled. Mom needs to go check out that cool monkey.

  10. Wow, what a fun time Koda had! We wish we could go on a shopping spree, but being cats, we aren't as easy to handle in the pet store.

  11. Congrats on winning that awesome prize! I love that you had trouble finding things that Koda actually needed (which shows how loved he is), and I love that he got this special trip after having that surgery.
That slow feeder bowl is great...I've never seen one with the paw print in it like that!

  18. I always took my last dog. He enjoyed picking out his own toy and visiting people! But my dog now doesn't like crowds and does like to pee on everything. So he gets to stay home if I need to go to the store. ~RascalandRocco
