Come With Us As We Learn About Raw Diets For Dogs - #InstinctRaw

dogs shopping at petsmart

Raw fed dogs seem like all the rage these days. Ever wonder why? I have, and I was anxious to learn more about raw feeding, and just exactly what the benefits of raw food for dogs are. Today, I invite you to come with me and the huskies on a journey into the raw diet world with Nature's Variety Instinct® Raw Bites.

#InstinctRaw bites raw food

I have been interested in trying raw dog food for a while now, and have been doing loads of research. I have even dabbled here and there with different raw treats for the huskies, such as chicken hearts, and raw meaty bones. One thing holding me back from making the switch was that it just seemed like a whole lot of work to prepare raw meals. That is why I am excited to introduce you to Nature's Variety Instinct® Raw Bites.

Instinct Raw Bites make raw feeding your dog super easy! Dogs are meat eaters by nature, so Nature's Variety has created a perfectly balanced raw diet for our 4 legged friends. Their food is never cooked, all natural, and packed with animal protein. The best part? All you do is scoop and serve! I don't think they could have made it any easier if they tried!!

Since my dogs were fed dry food, I had to do a slow transition over to Instinct Raw. When changing foods, whether it is from one dry food to another, or dry food to raw food, a slow introduction to the new food is extremely important, as the quick change can be hard on your dog's system.

Transition your dog by slowly introducing the new food, while decreasing the old food. Do this over a period of about 7 - 14 days.

I was anxious to see how my dogs would take to the raw food. Huskies can be super picky about what they eat, so when Koda rushed over to his bowl and began eating it with no hesitation, I was thrilled! It was clear that he loved it, and with his sensitive tummy, I am excited to see the difference it will make for him and his digestive system. As we move forward with his raw diet, I will continue to give updates.

What are some of the benefits I learned about raw food?

  1. Healthy skin and coat
  2. Optimal digestion
  3. Healthy teeth and gums
  4. Great for dogs with food sensitivities
  5. Helps your dog keep an ideal body weight
If you're anything like me, you know how important it is to keep track of what goes into our dogs bodies. With Instinct Raw Bites, I feel safe knowing that these diets are 95% meat, organs, and bones, 5% fruits and vegetables, and 0% grain. Plus, with these easy scoop and serve bites, making the switch to this all natural, gluten free raw dog food is a simple solution to venturing into the raw fed world.

  2. The thought has been tossed around at my house, but for now we are sticking with grain free, raw infused kibble. Not sure if Mom is ready for raw. Instinct looks real yummy. I'm a picky eater too, my sisters are not.

  10. Mom says she is pretty sure we would love it too. She had actually considered switching us to Primal Raw but the cost for two bigger dogs is pretty steep. Guess we will stay with our good kibble for now. Thanks for the review and we hope it is good for all.

  12. I fed prey model raw all of last summer, and wasn't impressed. Horrible coats, runny eyes, shedding, weight loss on dogs that couldn't afford to lose, low energy, ear infections (and this was past the "detox" phase). I happily quit, and put them back on kibble primarily. I now feed kibble, canned, dehydrated and freeze dried raw, and occasional raw meaty bones.

  13. I don't feed raw, although I have thought about it. I'm surprised to learn that a raw diet is good for dogs w/ sensitive stomachs. My Husky has a super sensitive tummy, and changing food is always a delicate matter. This product looks easy to use and convenient. Thanks for sharing!

  17. You know that I've been wanting to switch to raw for some time now, but Miss Koda doesn't seem to like anything but her bones raw. I think this is something she would eat for sure. I'm going to get some the next time I go to the store.
