Now, today, we are co hosting 2 blog hops. The Pet Parade, and Flashback Friday. I am combining the two hops, and thought it would be fun to share some Flashback Halloween dog costumes with you! These are the last couple years of my huskies costumes, some of which, they were not entirely thrilled to be wearing, which was my inspiration on today's guest post. See, before my blog, I didn't dress my dogs up. So the first year of costumes didn't turn out so well. I learned from my own experience how to properly choose a costume which would be less stressful on my dogs.
These are from the first year of dressing up my huskies. At which point, I only had Lexus and Mika, Koda was not yet in the picture.
As you can see, I had a real crappy camera phone at the time, and Mika and Lexus were not thrilled with being dressed up. Lexus was Bob Marely, and Mika was a Hula girl.
The next year, Koda came into the picture and he was a mummy. I used just a bit of gauze on his head, and he didn't mind too much, See? I was learning already! (please excuse the captions and blog address on some of these photos, like I said they were from a while back, and were already edited lol)
With Mika, I learned pretty quick that she is not a fan of dressing up, so after one attempt at this hat, I decided to just place it beside her, and snap a pic like that. Still works, right?
Lexus was a lady bug the following year. She made an adorable little lady bug I think, and as you can see, I figured out how to work with yummy treats while snapping my photos, which made for a much better result.
Koda is the best costume 'wearer' out of the whole pack. Anything I put on him, he is just happy when I take his photo!
Last year I snapped this photo of the huskies posing behind our pumpkins. Their eyes turned out perfectly with my flash, to make for a nice spooky Halloween photo!
Then there is this photo. By far my favorite 'costume' photo of any of my huskies. Even though this one came from a Bowzer Box toy and not Halloween, you can see the difference in Lexus with how great she is having something on her head. I used my experience of previous costumes not turning out so well, and learned how to help them feel comfortable while wearing a costume. Again, I also created an entire post on that today, over at 4knines.com.
That's all for today, I hope you enjoyed seeing my dogs past costumes, and I am looking forward to sharing this years with you very soon! What are some of your pets past costumes?
