The house was unusually quiet. Then again, it was 2:00am and everyone was tucked in their beds sound asleep, but still... an eerie sort of quiet seemed to sweep through my bedroom, and my body. I felt chilly, almost shivering. Something didn't feel right.
I decided to get out of bed, I dunno... try and walk off this dreadful feeling I was experiencing.
I stood up slowly, so as not to wake up the man of the house sleeping next to me.
I struggled to find my robe, and slippers in the dark.
The whole bedroom was as black as the fur on huskies body...
I crept across the floor, and out of the bedroom.
Still, the eerie quiet I was experiencing a few minutes ago seemed to follow me.
The cats were all quiet - too quiet - and the huskies.... hmmm - strange how Koda was not following me to the bathroom like he always does. I shake off the uneasy feeling that had suddenly climbed up my spine.
I had decided that the black of night was a little disturbing at this particular moment, and thought I had better flick the light switch on as I got my glass of water from the sink.
I flicked the switch only to learn that the power was out.
Hmmm.... that explains why everything was so dark, but why doesn't that seem to make me feel any better?
Fighting the urge to run back to my bedroom and wake the others... I shook it off, grabbed a flashlight, and headed upstairs to the bathroom.
Anxiously trying to finish my bathroom break, so that I could crawl back in back and try and rid myself of this silly fear... it was at that moment when I heard it.
At first, believe it or not, I wasn't worried, no... actually, I felt a second or two of relief. Relief because I thought, "oh, that must be the cats"... finally, some normal house noise, but soon enough I realized that wasn't the case.
I heard it again, only this time louder. The sound sent a cold, fearful chill through my body.
What was it? It almost reminded me of different horror movies from when I was a child... you know, those ones where you hear the murderer, or wacko breathing heavily over-top of you before something horrific and unimaginable happens.... yea... that was the noise.
I pushed myself to finally say something... when I spoke, my voice came out raspy as I said "who's there?"
No one answered of course.
I mean, normally when a bad guy is in your house, and you ask who's there, they never answer.
At least, that's how it goes in the movies.
A fear that I had never felt before quickly came swarming in on me.
What was I going to do?
Where was a I going to go?
Suddenly, a scratching noise on the door was accompanying the heavy breathing
... or wait...
It's not heavy breathing at all, it was now becoming clear.
The sound I was hearing was more like a loud sniffing sound rather than a heavy breathing sound.
In a moment of bravery, I decided to shine my flashlight over on the bathroom door for a quick second before making a dash for it.
That's when I saw it...
A big.... hairy... wet NOSE!
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!
So, as you may have noticed, this Saturday I decided to have a little fun, and create a spooky husky
Hope you enjoyed!
