Update On The Cat Who Thinks She's a Husky

If you are a regular follower here on the husky blog, you will most likely remember just a short time ago, I shared the story of a little kitten who had wandered her way into my yard. After taking her in, and realizing she had no home, we decided to keep her. We named her Robbi... strange name for a female cat, I know, but there is a very special story behind the name, and this kitten, which you can catch up on if you missed it. Read her story here.

Now, because we are a home with 3 Siberian Huskies, and 2 cats (before Robbi came along) we needed to introduce her into our home very carefully. Which we did. I pride myself in the fact that all of my animals get along with each other, and proper introductions, combined with baby steps is the way to accomplish just that. So, right here on the blog, we gave you a week by week update of little Robbi's progress, and exactly what steps I was taking to introduce her into our home. If you missed those, catch up here, here, here and here. The 4'th week explains the title of today's blog post - the cat who thinks she's a husky, so definitely head back and check out that post if you missed it!

Since our last kitten update was back in September, I thought today for our Pet Parade and Flashback Friday blog hops, I would share some recent photos of Robbi with you.

funny cat photo

Here is our little Robbi... in her most favorite spot of all. Yep... the dog dish! Why? I have no clue. For some reason, she loves to sleep all curled up in Mika's dog dish. She doesn't touch Koda's dog dish, she doesn't touch Lexus's dog dish, just Mika's.

funny cats

Koda is wondering what the heck she is doing sleeping in a dog dish.
As you can see, she is doing great, and has fit right in with our family. I won't say it hasn't been hard having a kitten around... she is a little terror, there's no denying that! She tore all of the branches off of our Christmas tree, more than one time. She jumps on on the counters on a daily basis, she takes the magnets off of our fridge... but she is our little Robbi, and we love her. She is incredibly snuggly, she loves the kids, and plays with them often, and she STILL thinks she is a husky. Robbi would much rather hang out with the dogs and do dog things, rather than be a cat with Winter and Kiki. But hey, to each their own!

For our Flashback Friday blog hop, I am sharing some of the very first photos I took of little Robbi, back when we first brought her inside. She was tiny, skinny, and a little scared, but she was very willing to come into our home, and make herself a new family.

My kitten trying to suckle on my husky

This last photo (above) is one of the most priceless photos I have of her. Poor Robbi kept trying to suckle on Lexus, looking for milk. And Lexus (God love her) allowed her to try her little heart out. They are now best buds.

  1. Hahaha just read all the posts on Robbie, she is adorable. You have done well, and thank you for taking care of her.
this reminds me of when I brought home Smokey as a kitten and my first rabbit Caramel and had to introduce them to our English Springer Spaniel Boots and he wasn't a small dog he was really big...they don't breed them like that any more.Anyway He always thought it was some new game for him to play but he was ever so gentle with them both,xx Rachel

  2. What a cutie pie Robbi is! Looks like she's fit right in and made herself NOTICEABLE by sleeping in a dog dish, tearing up the Christmas tree and in general just being a HAPPY KITTEN! Congratulations on the new addition - she's precious.

    Hugs, Sammy

  3. In a home with dogs, a cat who thinks she is a dog is a good thing. Our cat bro Bert hangs out with us dogs all the time. Sophie wants nothing to do with us.
