Is That A R...R....RAT?

Nope! Actually, it's 3 rats! If you follow my personal FB page, you may have already heard the news, but if not... I would love to take a moment and introduce you to Sassy, Abby, and Raisin.

Yep... rats! Who'da thunk? Lets go back a few days and I will explain.
So, my mum and I were considering adopting a rescue cat to have as a "store cat." Then I get a message from mum, telling me she had came across these 3 adorable lady rats who were at a rescue facility. These gorgeous babies were going to be snake food!!! UGH! Snake food!!!! Anyways, needless to say, we decided to adopt the 3 lady rats, Sassy, Abby, and Raisin, and keep them at the store with us every day. They are already becoming so friendly, and we love having them with us.

Especially Sassy, she is my shoulder rat. She loves to curl up by the back of my neck and watch me work and type on the computer. I am so glad my mother found these girls, and glad we got to be part of their rescue.

How about you?
Have you ever rescued any pets?

  1. Awww they are adorable.I am glad they got rescued from such an awful fate. This was to be Speedy's fate had he not been rescued at auction by a kind gentleman who rescued as many as he could and then we adopted him.
I sent your mum and email about purchasing another bracelet, not sure if she got it,xx Rachel

  2. My mom is a gerbil person, but with all of us hunters in the house, no rodents will be moving in. Congratulations on the rats.

  3. Congrats on the new family members! What do your huskies think of them? They are really cute!! I have SO many allergies to animals...there is no way I could get any other kind of animal. I used to have cats...until I went through all of my allergy testing and they told me I am allergic to CATS, Cows, Horses, Rats, Guinea Pigs, and pretty much every other animal you can think of. One of the reasons I have Bichons is because of my asthma. I'm so happy for you and your mom...glad things are working out for you guys!

  4. Rats are really becoming popular pets. You need to check with the Chesnut Mutts. I think she opened an Etsy store with rat scarves and bags. ☺

  5. Once you get to know them rats are sweet and personable. They just have a bad reputation from that whole Plague thing.

  6. Oh no, Mom is shrieking. Those rats would totally creep her out. We think they are cute.

  10. We've adopted a lot of critters into our family; once we happened to be in the shelter when a mom and crying child came in to dump the family hamsters. Felt so bad for the child and hamsters, I ended up taking them home (just the hamsters - kid left with his mom, no longer crying because I told him I'd take care of the hammies.)

  14. Good for you. I was thinking of getting a couple of rats to do some training for barn hunts. Have fun with your critters.
