We often say that somebody is giving puppy eyes once requesting one thing they actually need. it's in dogs’ nature to beg, particularly once it involves food. They have beds everywhere! haha! I spend a lot of my time in the kitchen working from my laptop, and they always want to be with me, so I have beds for them in here. But we don't eat in the kitchen, separate dining room for that :)

lol my huskies used to beg, but it was my fault because I always picked off things from my plate and fed it to them.....that made things worse, so we had to put a stop to it lol

Your dogs' beds are in the kitchen? LOL! We don't allow our dogs to be in the dining room while we are eating. They know to go into the living room and wait there until we're done - not that they don't try to sneak a peek or sniff now & then but you have to be consistent & not give in to their adorable faces. Koda is so cute looking over the gate!

Sometimes the answer is really rather simple, isn't it? Personally, I don't mind if the dogs stare at us when we're eating, as long as there's no whining or jumping. Our solution has always been simple too....we never feed the dogs from our dishes when we're eating. They know that when we're finished, they'll get a nibble or get to lick the plate, or get a treat when we've finished picking up. Being young, Luke has tried to jump of course, but the go to bed command works very well with him.
