20 Things Every Siberian Husky Owner Needs - Part 1

Welcome to another edition of Siberian Saturday. There seems to be an unwritten, unspoken club of humans who are owned by huskies. Even if we have never met, or never spoke, there is just something there. A connection that brings us together. I'm sure the same goes for any breed, but I saw this meme that sort of explains what i'm trying to say...

Right? Thank you for the demonstration Leo! LOL! Anyways, lets get to the good stuff. If you are owned by Siberian Huskies, there are just some things that are a necessity to have in your personal arsenal of dog supplies and/or needs. Some of these are just for fun, but the best part is, even though they sound silly, they are just - oh, SO true!

20 Things Every Siberian Husky Owner Needs - Part 1

20 Things Every Siberian Husky Owner Needs:

  1. Grooming tools! And lots of them!
  2. Patience
  3. A good vacuum cleaner
  4. Camera/cell phone camera (for tons of husky photos)
  5. A good sense of humor (for those times when you just have to look at your husky and shake your head)
  6. Siberian Husky apparel/Jewelry (show that husky pride)
  7. Lint roller - omg lint roller!! Or maybe a Schticky!!
  8. Grass seed - #TrustMe
  9. Durable chew toys (if you can find any)
  10. New furniture... eventually
  11. Golf clubs and golf balls... for all the 'holes' in your yard
  12. Understanding neighbors - or at least ones who are hard of hearing
  13. Non black clothing - unless you call husky fur on an outfit your new fashion statement
  14. Self control so as not to fall victim to the "Husky-holic" syndrome (betcha can't have just one!)
  15. Good walking shoes - again, trust me
  16. Walking belt
  17. Forgiveness - this will come in handy
  18. Learn to love the side order of husky fur with your morning coffee
  19. Lots of bed space
  20. Last but certainly not least... unconditional love <3
What more can I say? Siberian Huskies are a special breed, in more ways than one!
Huge shout out to my Siberian Husky Facebook group for helping me out with this list - you guys are the best! Stay tuned next Saturday for part 2!

  4. This is a great list! One of my friends had a Husky and he had his own chair in the living room (covered with a blanket.) When they had guests, they removed the blanket for the guest. Invariably, the dog would spend the night staring at the guest, no doubt wondering why they were in his chair. He also slept in the guest bed ( a twin sized bed), even if there was a guest.

  5. What a fun list! Luckily, we already have quite a few of these things, so if we ever decide to get a Husky, we'll have a head start! :)

  7. We have die hard Husky fan friends in Germany. We like huskies too, but don't know if Mom would have one again. They had one when she was growing up, but he was always into something!

  11. As a humbled human of a Siberian Husky, I quite understand where you're coming from, lol. My boy Jack is quite a howler and I thank my lucky stars for great neighbors who understand. Jack loves to go pottty at around 5 am and believe me, during the weekends, this activity is not one I relish. If I dilly-dally for even a minute, he gives out this soulful howl! But like any pet owner, I wouldn't have it other way except perhaps a little bit of behavior modification, here and there. I found some great information regarding Huskies here.
