Remembering Lost Pets On #RainbowBridgeRemembranceDay

Today is a very special day. August 28'th, 2015, marks the first year where a day has been created to take a moment and remember our lost, loved, pets. This day was lovingly created by Deborah Barnes, and she invites everyone to participate. Even though we think of our loved ones daily, today, take a second to light a candle, or post a photo or story of your past, beloved pets, and share them with the world.

It's funny, because I don't even have any digital photos to share of my previous pets. Even though I often take the time to remember them, the pictures I have are not on my computer. Instead, I created a graphic to pay tribute to all of us who have loved, and lost pets at one point or another in our lives.

It is never easy to lose a loved one, whether they are human or furry, so today, lets join in a worldwide paw circle, and together, we can honor our fur babies, and our cherished memories.

Today we are co hosting two blog hops. The Pet Parade, and Flashback Friday. Since Flashback Friday is all about sharing our favorite flashback photos and/or memories, I am not choosing any one photo this week. Instead, I think my pawprints graphic (above) says it all. All of my memories, tied into one, go into Flashback Friday today on the blog.

Flashback Friday is hosted by Five Sibes Mom.
Co hosted by me, from Love Is Being Owned By A Husky.

Most of you are familiar with our Pet Parade blog hop. It takes place every Friday, and welcomes pets of all species to join in the fun. We have grown to be one of the most popular hops in the blogging community. Today, we are saying farewell to one of our long time co hosts - Jan, from Jan's Funny Farm. Our lovely Jan will still be blogging, however, she needed to step down as co host of the Pet Parade. So I would like to wish her all the best, and thank her for all she has done for the Pet Parade and the blogging community. When I first began blogging, I had no clue what I was doing. Jan helped me SO much! She created beautiful blog headers for me, and even taught me how to create my own. So Jan, thank you for all you have done, and I hope you will stick around and continue blogging for a little longer with us. XOXO

Pet Parade is hosted by Rascal And Rocco
Co hosted by: Me, Bionic Basil, Barking From The Bayou, and for the very last week - Jan's Funny Farm.

  1. What a great poem there. We remember the furry ones before us on the days they left us. We think of them all the time and have photos around the house, but it is too sad to think of them sometimes. It makes the Mom get all teary eyed.

  6. What a beautiful graphic and poem! What a great idea and a great day. I just didn't have the heart to be sad right now. No matter how happy the memories are, I just get so sad when thinking of our pets that are gone.
