Kurgo Zippy Bowl - #nohotpets

Hiya everyone!

TGIF pets and humans of the world!
It's time for this weeks Pet Parade blog hop!

Come PAWty with us on the parade! Link up with our host Rascal and Rocco.
And your co hosts : Jan's Funny Farm, Bionic Basil, Barking from the Bayou,
and me, Love is being owned by a husky!
Parade your photos or fav stories, or if your not a blogger, see what everyone else has in store for the parade!
Also see our featured pet of the week!

Today we have the opportunity to review the Zippy Bowl from Kurgo.
We were fascinated with how small this bowl actually zips up!

Side note : The first thing I noticed about the zippy bowl, is that there was a husky photo on the packaging! Teehee!

The zippy bowl, is a super cute portable doggie dish!
Use it for food or water, but let's focus on water today.

How does the zippy bowl work?

All you do is unzip!
Literally!

When zipped up, the classic clutch style easily fits in any purse, pocket, or simply carry it with you, making it easily portable. PAWfect for on the go pups!
My husky Mika does not like to share a bowl with other dogs while at the dog park. And anyways, I would much rather bring our own bowl anyway. I mean, let's face it, do you want to drink out of a "community" cup? No.
It opens up to hold 48oz of water.
The bowl is BPA free,
PVC free, and,
phthalate  free.

Fill it with water and allow your pups to drink!

I was impressed with the durability of the bowl, as I thought it would be a bit "floppy" for lack of a better word, and I anticipated it falling over when Koda stuck his big 'ol head in it. But it held up!

Talking about a portable water bowl brings me to the #nohotpets campaign.
The weather is getting warmer and warmer as we move towards summer time.
I did a post a few weeks ago (which you can find here)  about the #nohotpets campaign.
The point of this, is to raise awareness about leaving pets in hot vehicles and other hazards which can occur to your pet during the hot summer.

Have you ever thought about how your dogs paws feel while walking on pavement in crazy hot weather?
I am sure you have experienced walking in bare feet on hot sand at a beach etc . . .
Imagine your dogs paws on  black surfaces during the summer?

I am aware the pads on their feet can handle more then our bare human feet, but that does not mean that their paws are "heat proof."

How can you prevent burning your pets paws this summer?

Simple! Walk them early in the morning, or after the sun goes down in the evening.
This way the pavement will not be hot!

Keep your dog WELL hydrated during the hot days.
With the Kurgo Zippy Bowl, it is easy for you to keep water on hand at all times.
If you plan on being out for a while, don't underestimate the need your dog has for water.
Bring your portable bowl, and a water bottle. Fill up the bowl when needed.

Dogs also love to have cool treats on hot days!
Just like the human kids of the world.

Stay tuned for more summer tips for your dogs and cats on upcoming posts!

  5. That's a cool bowl! I agree, who would want to drink out of a community cup/bowl. You never know where other dogs' mouth have been.

  6. That bowl looks great! I used to have similar portable bowl but it didn't fold up that nicely, and I love how this one zips closed, which will keep it cleaner. I think it's a great idea to bring that to a dog park.
We don't have much pavement around here, we are usually only on it for a short time while headed to a dirt trail or road to walk. But that is important to remember for everyone that does!

    1. I know! I love how it zips up, and how small and compact it is!
It is much easier to bring this bowl to the dog park rather then a regular size bowl. Much more convenient! We have tons of pavement around here, so it is super impawtant for us to remember :).

  7. Hello and happy Friday. Regarding your question about the book giveaway on Traveling Cats: the follow buttons are in the blog sidebar. In the Rafflecopter form it suffices to say that you follow and to give your username. Good luck ;-)

  10. Excellent tips to beat the heat - these are critical for us here in Phoenix where the sun is brutal & pavement gets dangerously HOT. Love this Zippy bowl, what a great idea. We go thru portable bowls a lot since we travel so much.

Travelling a lot would definitely make you go through the potable bowls quick! We don't travel much, so our main use is going to the parks and whatnot.
      Thanks for dropping by!

  11. That looks like a cool bowl! Great post. I'll never understand why people leave their dogs in hot cars or take them for long walks on sidewalks and streets that are 110 degrees.
